Please read this page carefully as it contains important information relating to the delivery services we provide.

 

COVID-19 STATUS

We are open as usual during these unprecedented times and taking orders via our online shop.   It is just the two of us from the same household working to produce your gin, pick, package and post it to you.  We are therefore a COVID-19 secure business and we believe we are doing our bit to prevent the spread of the virus without undue risk to either of us.

Important COVID-19 delivery information

Our parcels are sent via Royal Mail or Parcel Force and we post on average twice a week.  Whilst both companies provide estimations of delivery timescales, we have seen erratic delivery times via Royal Mail.  In some cases the delivery times have exceeded those stated on their web site, in others we’ve seen 2nd class parcels arrive next day.  Please be assured that once you receive your tracking information we have handed over your parcel for delivery and is now with the courier.  Please be patient, as per Royal Mails terms of service the parcel cannot be considered lost until 10 working days have passed from the collection date.

1 DELIVERY INFORMATION

 

1.1 Delivery Costs

We try to offer suitable shipping arrangements for your order both in terms of cost and order turnaround.  Please understand that we are a small company (we’ll personally take your package to the post office) and therefore cannot provide free shipping on all orders, as much as we would like to.  However;

  • We do cover the cost of postage and packaging on all orders over just £30 and provide FREE SHIPPING
  • Orders up to £30 are changed at a flat fee of £4 to help cover some of the costs associated with posting your goods.
  • Express Delivery on all orders charged at £6.50

 

1.2 Delivery Service and Timescales

 

1.2.1 Smaller Orders

We typically post orders out twice a week depending or order volume and, if using our free delivery option, smaller orders are sent via Royal Mail 2nd Class Tracked Delivery.  A typical order could take three to five working days to arrive from the date you received your tracking number from us, which will be the date we hand over the goods to the post office.

1.2.2 Larger Orders

For larger orders we use ParcelForce as the courier and you will be advised as such when your tracking number is issued.  If using our free delivery option with a larger order, the parcel will be sent ParcelForce48 – a two-day delivery service from the date the goods are collected from us.

 

1.2.3 Express Delivery

If you need your gin delivered quickly then express delivery is available on all orders for an additional cost of £6.50 and can be selected at checkout.

1.2.3.1 Smaller orders

Your goods will be shipped via Royal Mail 1st class signed for post and we will endeavour to get to the post office before our scheduled drop off date.

1.2.3.2 Larger Orders

Your goods will be shipped via ParcelForce24, a next day service from the date collected.

 

1.3 Important Note regarding ParcelForce collections

Please note that ParcelForce collect from us the next day after we request a collection.  Therefore express shipping via ParcelForce24 will take a minimum of two days from the date of order to arrive with you.  Similarly Standard ParcelForce48 will take a minimum of three days from the date of order to arrive with you.

 

1.4 Shipping Examples

Here are some examples to illustrate how the ordering process might go and when you could expect to receive your gin.  Note that the days referenced for Post Office drop offs are just examples.  We will drop off at the Post Office twice a week and those days vary according to the order volumes received, other work load, such as when we are distilling which prevents us leaving the distillery.

 

1.4.1 Example 1 – Small order, Standard Delivery

After browsing the shop on a Saturday afternoon you place an order for a 5cl selection pack and pay the flat fee of £4 for standard delivery.  We receive your order, carefully package it for delivery and take to the Post Office on Monday before final posting times. You order is shipped that day and you receive a tracking number from us (Twisting Spirits Shop) via email.

Your parcel has been sent Royal Mail 2nd class and your delivery should be in two to three working days as specified by Royal Mail:

“2nd Class – we aim to deliver in two to three working days*. This includes: Royal Mail Signed For® 2nd Class”

Your parcel arrives the following Thursday and requires a signature on delivery

 

1.4.2 Example 2 – Small order, Express Delivery

After browsing the shop on a Monday afternoon you place an order for a 5cl selection pack and pay £6.50 for Express delivery.  We receive your order, carefully package it for delivery and take to the Post Office on Tuesday before final posting times. You order is shipped that day and you receive a tracking number from us (Twisting Spirits Shop) via email.

Your parcel has been sent Royal Mail 1st class Signed for and your delivery should be in one to two working days as specified by Royal Mail:

“1st Class – we aim to deliver the next working day*. This includes:

  • Royal Mail Signed For® 1st Class**
  • Royal Mail 24®
  • Royal Mail Tracked 24®
  • 1st Class Parcels

1.4.2 Example 3 – Large order, Free Delivery

After browsing the shop on a Tuesday Morning, you place an order for a three bottle Ginspirational Bundle and opt for free standard delivery.  We receive your order, carefully package it for delivery and arrange for ParcelForce to collect next day (Wednesday). You receive a email from us (Twisting Spirits Shop) on Tuesday with the ParcelForce tracking number. Please note that tracking information might not be available till next day.

You order is collected Wednesday, send via ParcelForce48  (a two day service) and should be delivered the following Friday and requires a signature on delivery.

 

1.4.3 Example 4 – Large order, Express Delivery

After browsing the shop on a Tuesday Morning, you place an order for a three bottle Ginspirational Bundle, opt for Express delivery and pay £6.50 shipping.  We receive your order, carefully package it for delivery and arrange for ParcelForce to collect next day (Wednesday). You receive an email from us (Twisting Spirits Shop) on Tuesday with the ParcelForce tracking number.  Please note that tracking information might not be available till next day.

You order is collected Wednesday, send via ParcelForce24  (a one day service) and should be delivered the following Thursday and requires a signature on delivery.

 

1.5 What if Your Delivery is Late?

Sometimes deliveries can take longer than expected due to factors outside our control.  We have found Royal Mail and ParcelForce to be very reliable, however there can be delays sometimes, especially with Royal Mail where delivery timescales are not guaranteed.  Here’s what to do;

Important – Please check your junk mail in case you didn’t receive a confirmation email with tracking details.

If you have received a tracking number from us it means that your parcel is with Royal Mail.  We do not have any further information other than what you see in the Royal Mail tracking page.

We ask that if your parcel is running late, please be patient because although Royal Mail give estimated delivery times, they are not guaranteed.  In the case of lost parcels we have to observe the Royal Mail wait times before the delivery can be considered lost and therefore send you a replacement;

2 Delivery Locations

 

2.1 UK

Currently we are only able to deliver to locations within the UK by default on orders placed via our website. But, if you have special delivery requirements, please contact us and we’ll try arrange something suitable.

2.2 Overseas

Currently we are only able to deliver to locations within the UK by default on orders placed via our website. If you have an overseas delivery requirement, please contact us and we’ll try arrange something suitable.

Please note that many countries have customs rules that may prevent us from shipping to your location

3 What to expect

Once your order has been shipped, you’ll receive an email confirmation to the email address you provided during checkout. You will also receive an email with tracking details when the goods have been dispatched. The goods will be delivered to you, the buyer, at the delivery address you provided on the order form. We require a signature for any goods delivered, at which point responsibility for your purchased goods passes to you. From the time of receipted delivery of the goods, any loss or damage to the goods shall be at your own risk.

Any dates we specify for the delivery of the goods are approximate only and we shall not be liable for any losses, costs, damages, charges or expenses caused by any delay for delivery of the goods. We accept no liability for goods required by a specific date which fail to arrive due to circumstance beyond our control.

If your parcel clearly shows signs of damage or leakage at the time of delivery, it should not be accepted. Please ask the courier to return the goods to us.
